Cary Brown and O.M.S. (Organic Music Synthesis) is a funky jazz and rock infused jam band that features all the dynamic improvised groove qualities of the best jam bands combined with the musical versatility and precision of three seasoned veterans of the NYC area jazz scene. Cary Brown, multi-keyboardist/producer/composer toured internationally throughout the 90s with Jamaican ska pioneers The Skatalites and the NYC based group The New York Ska-Jazz Ensemble. He has also performed and/or recorded with jazz legend John Scofield, Sloan Wainwright, and Rufus Wainwright and has performed at many of the best jazz venues in the NY area including Small’s, The 55 Bar, The Iridium, The Cutting Room, Rockwood Music Hall, and BB King’s. Chuck Leavell had the good fortune to share the stage with the reggae pioneer at the LOCKN’ Festival in 2015 where they performed together with Widespread Panic. Chuck Leavell joined Widespread Panic on their first night at Red Rocks, Colorado on June 27 2025. During the first set Chuck sat in with the band on "Climb to Safety", "Fixin' to Die", "Blight" and "Stop Breakin Down". For the second set he joined them on "The Harder They Come", "Mercy", and "Fishwater", closing out the encore with "You Can't Always Get What You Want" and "I'm So Glad". "The Brothers" returned to The Garden on April 15 and 16. In Chuck's words, "The Brothers are a conglomerate of us that have played with the Allman Brothers Band through the decades.
